Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is essential for the maintenance of good health, prevention of disease and maintaining normal calcium metabolism. Because of our location (geographically) in North America, it is virtually impossible to get enough high quality sunlight, even in the summer for our bodies to produce enough vitamin D to keep us healthy. Because of this it is recommended that everyone take a vitamin D supplement, year round.
